The artist will be in Nashville October, 10th. So will David Bazan, ex-front man for Pedro the Lion. Anyways, that was just a side note. The last few weeks have been very hectic and exciting. Since school started I have been, once again writing screenplays, shooting and spending long nights at the writing lab.

This past weekend, I helped Jayson Wall shoot a 30 sec P.S.A. for our production class. On scriptwriting, I have started writing for the Production I will be shooting on November, a 7 minute M.O.S (no dialogue) , short narrative film and I am having a blast. I enjoy the writing and the rewriting process so much. Through it, I really get to know my characters and what they are all about. Often, in the process of writing this screenplay, I have found myself in these characters, along with with some of my life experiences. There have been instances were our faces have been overtaken by smiles. On other occasions such films have uncovered the reality of our colorless lives and dare us to expand our color palette. By the end of such films our hearts are uplifted. The very same films have also left us feeling subdued and broken-hearted.

As of lately, there has been one actress who deserves an award for her successful performance on making us (and yes, I include myself) feel the ways listed on the first paragraph. She is married to the King of Indie rock, Ben Gibbard, and is a heartbreaker in her own sort; she's a cute indie rocker girl. If you have not guessed her name yet she goes by Zooey Deschanel.

Her bluish-green deer-in-headlights eyes, porcelain skin and black hair have hypnotized us since she made her appearance in the film Almost Famous. I am not against Zooey in anyway. I am Pro-Zooey. However, she has been continually playing the character of the “indie girl” who "does not want to commit" and wants to be “her own person” and has “a lot going on in her life.” Consequently, Zooey along with several other actresses/musicians that will remain unnamed, have influenced many girls in the same “scene” she is a part of to take on this persona and have given many a cynical outlook on relationships where the man does not know what the future hold due the woman’s inability to commit. As an artist, I have come across a road block, a writer's block , a creative block or whatever the hell you choose to call it. At the beginning of the summer I was very excited because I was going to have all this free time to just create and that has not been the case. In retrospect, I think that the way I feel at the moment has greatly influenced this creative block that I am going through right now. I have done several things that I think have contributed to me getting past this. For example, I have looked at a lot of random artwork online in the ffffound website. Also, I got a new film camera. It's actually not very new. Its an early model of a Minolta camera and started shooting random photographs and trying to create a concept to shoot a project. Thus far, I am excited about what might come out of this and for what the next month holds. I am going to back to Puerto RIco which is just a great opportunity to get away from my usual surroundings and expose myself to new things and people.

Till this goes away,
Jean-Michael Visseposixteen twentyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00624579346701470475noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3072053701379709954.post-9230254286157355992009-06-03T09:53:00.006-05:002009-06-03T10:40:01.823-05:00Indiana Livin'<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-VATq7OUhtA/SiaQbDzg_-I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/P0urNwkkisY/s320/IMG_1602.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343116802473918434" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-VATq7OUhtA/SiaQSX_DmII/AAAAAAAAAII/p6bs3PWNvsI/s320/IMG_1604.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343116653272209538" />

Tyler and I have been living the country life for the last couple of days. Basically, what that entails is that we are in his hometown in Indiana 4wheelin'! Is really not a big deal you don't even have to worry about it! Yesterday, when we were riding we got caught in the middle of a hail storm and then on top of that my atv got stuck in the mud! No worries though. It was nothing that men like us couldn't take care of. We tried getting it out in the middle of the storm, but after trying and trying it was still stuck. So we rode back on Tyler's in the middle of the storm and well...long story short his dad got this big ol' chain and helped us get it out, here are some pics.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-VATq7OUhtA/SiaQGGtCefI/AAAAAAAAAIA/EzkQvcWp1gI/s320/IMG_1607.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343116442474805746" />sixteen twentyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00624579346701470475noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3072053701379709954.post-68506485171556542162009-06-02T03:27:00.004-05:002009-06-02T03:39:29.360-05:00And they're off!As Tyler stated before in the previous blog entry, summer has been fantastic. After weeks of rain and cloudy days we are able to hang out on our back deck! Today, I don't have much to do other than go to work at the school and after that is hangout all afternoon long!!! Last night, A group of friends and I watch the classic movie the Princess Bride and earlier in the weekend we watched the film The Wrestler. Let me just say, it was so freakin good! I loved it! I'm not much into wrestling. I'm acually not into it at all, but this film made me be into it.It captured me as is slave through the entire duration of it. My favorite thing about it other than the fact that the acting/directing is done really well and that the script is awesome was the way it was shot. Summer has been great. I have surprisingly been very productive. I have got a desk and fixed and painted it up. set up a complete screen printing station in my room/under the house. Rode my bike a lot for fun and transportation a like. Kept my room and the rest of the house fairly clean and organized. And have kept up on yard work. I have also managed to not sleep in too much. Lets hope I can keep this up.

Today:
- oil changed
- groceries
- move my brother into the house
- ride bikes
- go buy a book and read it
- Arbys free food with coupon
- and then who knows...maybe go to the 5 spot for old time jam and $2 tall boys.

ha, hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

-Tylersixteen twentyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00624579346701470475noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3072053701379709954.post-78403061483219845552009-05-05T18:08:00.002-05:002009-05-05T18:23:13.392-05:00Black Angus...Should be my middle name because I LOVE red meat so friggin' much and thats what I am eating for dinner!!!

Good Evening Boys and Girls.

Summer is finally here! Mine started last thursday night with free pizza in my last class. Since then it has been non-stop hanging out with friends and people that I love. Waking up for work yesterday was not an easy thing to do ,but I did it with a happy heart knowing that after work I was still gonna be enjoying the summer! Anyways, Long story short I have been grilling out all the time; hot dogs, burgers, meat in general!

Show bout that rain for the past month? Is crazy, but I have love it because I watched my first episode of Seinfeld on Sunday evening and to say the least it was HILARIOUS! Also, I cooked basil pesto pasta and a friend made rosemary potatoes!! Basically, I am a chef...no big deal.

H.A.G.S.
Jean-Michael Visseposixteen twentyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00624579346701470475noreply@blogger.com1
